Changes at the HS for 2012-13 Beginning in 2012-13, Algonac HS will offer TWO concert bands. All students should sign up for 6th hour band, which will be the marching band during the months of September and October. After that, the band will divide into two ensembles. The new Wind Ensemble will meet 5th hour (starting second semester) and the Symphonic Band will continue to meet 6th hour. This will allow the bands to be instructed at an appropriate level of musical challenge. Auditions for the wind ensemble will be open only to upper classmen during the first round. If the instrumentation for the Wind Ensemble is still lacking after the initial round of auditions, a second round will be held which will ber open to all HS band students.
