Practice for Tuesday, 8/24 from 6-9pm at the HIGH SCHOOL (bring bug spray!) is still on.  

The HS band room is now open, and I am looking for 10 or so volunteers to help unpack, organize and set up the HS band room. I plan on working 10am-2pm. We also have to make a run to the MS to retrieve the rest of the HS stuff so if you can drive that is a plus. We will also be assembling all of the new music stands, stand carts and chair carts. Wheee. Please email me right away at rgras@algonac.k12.mi.us if you plan to help so I know how many to expect. I will provide lunch in the form of pizza and soda. 

Uniform fittings have been rescheduled for the following times/locations: HS CHOIR ROOM 10am-2pm Monday, 8/30 Seniors and Juniors Tuesday, 8/31 Sophomores and Freshmen last name A-L Wednesday, 9/1 Freshmen last name M-Z and anyone else IF YOU CAN NOT ATTEND ANY OF THESE DAYS/TIMES you better contact me ASAP. There are 125 uniforms for 115 people. Do the math. 

The HS Marching Band practice scheduled for Tuesday Aug. 10th is Cancelled. However, the band boosters will still meet at 7pm at Algonquin MS. 

I have seen the newly rennovated HS band room - and it is awesome. You seriously will not even be able to believe how much better, cleaner, brighter, more acoustically perfect, and AIR CONDITIONED it is! The new Wenger storage cabinets and storage room is AWESOME! Our new Wenger music library is AWESOME! Our all new Wenger acoustic wall and cieling tiles are AWESOME! Our new chairs and stands are AWESOME! Our new drum room and storage system is AWESOME! Our new floor and cieling is AWESOME! Did I mention that the air conditioning is...AWESOME! I will try to post some pics very soon.

The AHS Marching Band received straight First Division ratings at the MSBOA District 16 Marching Festival held at Port Huron HS on Tuesday, October 13th despite frigid temperatures. Out of 9 letter grades, the band received 7 "A", 1 "A-" and 1 "B+" grades. This is the third year in a row the band has received all first division ratings at marching festival. Great job band!
